English Term 1 - 10EV

In term 1 we focused on 'Making a difference'. We were put into groups of 4 or 5 and had to design a poster around making a difference it had to be connected to grey high and have a paragraph explaining it, In my group was Samara, Aedan, Aaron and Me. Throughout the year we have also being doing the big question and the success ticket. At the start of the lesson we do the big question, we write something different everyday, we get 10 minutes to write as much as we can and edit it then we submit it and at the end of the lesson we do the success ticket where we pretty much summarise the lesson usually we write about what went well for us and what didn't. Throughout term 1 I have learnt how to correctly use punctuation and I have also learnt how to write more than I usually would, like at the start of the year I would write for about 5 minutes then stop but now I write for the full 10 minutes. In term 2 I want to improve on all of my writing and reading skills I also want to continue to learn about punctuation and grammar.

Evaluating Game Platform


I am evaluating the game 'Journey' from the trailer we watched. I would say the game is presented in a thoughtful and emotional way with the music they used, I think they graphics were good quality. I liked the main character in this game, this game was described as the 'best game in 2012' I think this    game would be really enjoyable to play 








The Game I am evaluating is called 'Never Alone' was made in Alaska and was made for the troubled kids that were living there and the community was connecting enough with the kids and social media was being very negative towards them the made the game for the kids to interact with and raised the kids school attendance lifted from 54% to 91%. this game looks very entertaining was was said to be very realistic and challenging. And I definitely think our community is capable enough to design a game like this.  

Error Control


This week in class we sat down in groups of four and five with pile of cards and laid out in a 7 by 7 square with black and white cards we then had to add and eighth line to both sides and make it have an even amount of black and white cards in each row, then one person from the group turned around and the others changed one card and the person who turned around had to figure out what card was flipped. Parity cards are black and white cards, we know that computers use 0's and 1's so we just have to change the cards if they are uneven, the black cards are 0's and the white cards are 1's.

Services, Monday 7th August

Madison and I are currently finishing our paper mache earth and sun and then will be moving onto our paper planes. This week we will paint and finish our paper mache and the paper planes. I don't believe Madison and I will finish our project.

Yesterday Madison and I continued to paper mache our balloon. today we will hopefully be finishing our paper mache and if we finish we will be starting to make our paper mache

Today Madison and I are going to continue making our paper planes, Madison is going to finish making the large paper planes and I will be making the smaller paper planes. We are also going to plan out our paper mache moon and sun. We will then start making those as soon as we have the balloons required.
